About

I’m not sure if Aaron Copland ever met the likes of Benoit Mandelbrot, but if he had, they might have had a good sip of conversation discussing why people behave the same, generation after generation. The answer would be pattern. We behave the same because we’ve always been the same. How, then, do we move beyond pattern? Well, that can’t be answered until we ask why we should. It would be easy to develop solution aimed at fixing culture. That would be folly.

We shouldn’t aim at anything. Rather, we should be working alongside others, developing solution that helps them understand themselves, helps shape their environments, helps tear down the platitudes that lives are so often built upon.

This is the language of solution. This is a common tongue.

You see, the great thing about Copland’s music is that he never forsook dissonance. What he did was to make it palatable. The same is true for design, whether UI, information, a poster with migrating varnish. We must understand the incremental steps cultures are willing to take. If we can see those, we can see where the larger steps may exist.

Opus Fine Arts is solution.

Some would look at the national and international acclaim, the American Design Awards©, the Communicator Awards©, the three straight years of PIA Graphex Awards© and think, “Wow, he must be good. Look at all the shiny trophies!” That misses the point.

Solution is a problem solved – in any medium. With OFA,  client need is examined as the product of human-centered reason in design. It is a firm that spans creative development from fashion to finance, always retaining the goal of being a solution messenger. Opus strives to move beyond, not only in creative stimuli, but in the development of theory and curriculum delivered to all clients, aiding them in their exploration of solution.

What’s it all about anyhow? Getting paid? No. Getting it done right?

Yes. Yes indeed.
